Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This policy explains what data Counterpartly (counterpartly.com) collects, why, and your rights. We keep it short and honest.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your name, email, and login identity (via Google or email through our authentication provider, Clerk).
- Company data — company profile, briefs, product catalog, addresses, and the parameters you give your AI agent.
- Transaction data — negotiations, orders, payments status, payouts, and reviews. Payment credentials (cards, bank details) are handled by PayPal and never stored by us.
- Communications — questions and answers exchanged with counterparts, and messages you send to our support channels.
- Technical data — standard logs (IP, browser) needed to run and secure the service.
2. How we use it
- To run the platform: matching, negotiation, orders, payouts.
- To power AI features: brief content is processed by AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) to enable matching, negotiation summaries, and translation. Your confidential negotiation limits are never shared with your counterpart.
- To send transactional email (match alerts, decisions, payment confirmations, digests) via our email provider (Resend).
- To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your private business data to train AI models.
3. What other companies see
Matched counterparts see your public profile, briefs, product catalog, trust statistics, and published reviews — never your hard limits, payout details, or contact email (until you share it yourself).
4. Processors we rely on
Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Clerk (authentication), PayPal (payments and payouts), Resend (email), Anthropic and OpenAI (AI processing), Vercel Blob (file storage), and Microsoft Clarity (product analytics — see Cookies below). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep account and transaction data while your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and dispute purposes. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at support@counterpartly.com; transaction records that must be retained by law are anonymized where possible.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data by contacting support@counterpartly.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the rights provided by the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
7. Cookies and analytics
Functional cookies: your session (login) and your language preference. Analytics: we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the platform is used (page interactions, heatmaps, and session replays) so we can improve it. Clarity sets first-party analytics cookies and automatically masks sensitive content in recordings. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and analytics data is not sold or used for advertising. To opt out of analytics, use your browser's tracking-prevention settings or contact support@counterpartly.com.
8. Changes and contact
We will announce material changes to this policy on the platform. Questions: support@counterpartly.com.
